The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025 (SSC CGL 2025) official notification. This examination aims to fill various Group 'B' and Group 'C' posts in different Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/Statutory Bodies/Tribunals, etc. The notification was uploaded on the official website of the Commission, https://ssc.gov.in, on 09-06-2025.

The schedule of examinations indicated in the Notice is tentative. Any change in the schedule of examinations or any other information about the examination will be communicated to candidates only through the website of the Commission.
SSC CGL Vacancy 2025
The Staff Selection Commission has announced tentative vacancies for the SSC CGL 2025 examination.
Tentative Vacancies: Approximately 14,582 vacancies.
Final vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.gov.in > For Candidates > Tentative Vacancy). Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission. Candidates are advised to approach the concerned User Departments for information pertaining to zone-wise/state-wise vacancies.
Reservation
Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates for all the categories of posts/services, wherever applicable and admissible, would be as determined and communicated by the Indenting Ministries/ Departments/ Offices/ Cadres, as per extant Government Orders.
Vacancies for ESM are reserved for only Group "C" posts.
New Changes for SSC CGL Exam 2025
The notification highlights some new changes and important points for the SSC CGL 2025 examination:
New Website for Application: Applications must be submitted only in online mode at the new website of SSC Headquarter i.e. https://ssc.gov.in or through mySSC mobile application.
One-Time Registration (OTR) on New Website: All candidates who wish to apply and have not generated their OTR on the new website (https://ssc.gov.in) will be required to do so, as the earlier OTR generated on the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) will not be functional.
Aadhaar Based Authentication: The Commission has implemented Aadhaar Based Biometric Authentication. Candidates have the option to authenticate themselves using Aadhaar at the time of One Time Registration (OTR) and while filling up the online application form. Applications of candidates opting for Aadhaar Authentication will not be rejected on the ground that photograph and/or signature uploaded are not as per prescribed standards.
Live Photo Capture: For applying, candidates are not required to have a pre-existing photograph. The application module is designed to capture a live photograph of the candidate filling up the application form. Candidates should ensure the photograph is clear, without a cap or spectacles, and with a full frontal view.
Application Form Correction Window: After the closing date for online applications, a 3-day window (09-07-2025 to 11-07-2025) will be provided for candidates to correct/modify online application parameters. A uniform correction charge of ₹ 200/- for the first time and ₹ 500/- for the second time will be levied.
No Waiting List/Reserve List: SSC does not maintain a waiting list/reserve list for multi-factor examinations. However, the Commission is contemplating to introduce a scheme for single round of post allotment sliding to fill up unfilled vacancies after Document Verification through an extended cut-off, subject to Government approval.
Mandatory Section Qualification in Tier-II: It will be mandatory for candidates to qualify all the Sections of Paper-I separately in Tier-II.
Higher Qualifying Standards for Specific Posts: For posts where Computer Proficiency or Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) is prescribed, higher qualifying standards will be set in comparison to other posts.
Document Verification by User Departments: Document Verification (DV) will be conducted by the User Departments/Organizations after the declaration of the final result, not by SSC.
Post Preference Submission: Preference for various posts and departments will be taken from candidates through an Online Option Form on the Commission's website before the declaration of the final result. Failure to submit preferences within the stipulated time will result in non-consideration for any post.
SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility
A candidate must be either:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Only male candidates are eligible for vacancy(ies), if any reported, in the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
Age Limit (As on 01-08-2025)
The age limits for various posts are as follows:

Date of Birth filled by the candidate in the online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.
Essential Educational Qualifications (As on 01-08-2025)
Candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:
Junior Statistical Officer:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; Or
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.
Statistical Investigator Grade-II:
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates should have studied the subject of Statistics at Degree Level in Part-I, Part-II and Part-III or in all the six semesters of three year degree course and not simply a paper in any part of the Degree or six semesters at degree level.
All other Posts:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification as on 01-08-2025.
Degrees/diplomas/certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode are recognized for employment under the Central Government, provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, UGC, for the relevant period. Candidates must produce approval for the relevant period at the time of Document Verification.
Programmes in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and physiotherapy etc. are not permitted under Open and Distance Learning mode, with the exception of B.Tech. degree/diploma in Engineering awarded by IGNOU to students enrolled up to academic year 2009-10.
Candidates called for document verification must produce original Mark sheets for all years/semesters of Graduation/Provisional Certificate/Degree of Graduation as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the cut-off date. Mere processing of the result by the University/Institute by the cut-off date does not fulfill the EQ requirement.
For equivalent educational qualifications, candidates must produce a relevant Equivalence Certificate from the authorities concerned at the time of Document Verification. The final decision regarding selection will be taken by the User Departments/Appointing Authorities.
SSC CGL 2025 Online Form
The application process for SSC CGL 2025 is entirely online and consists of two parts: One-Time Registration (OTR) and filling the online Application for the Examination.
Part-A (One-Time Registration)
Before proceeding with OTR, ensure you have the following information/documents ready:
Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP)
Email ID (to be verified through OTP)
Aadhaar Card Number (or other valid ID if Aadhaar is not available: Voter ID, PAN, Passport, Driving License, School/College ID, Employer ID)
Information about the Examination Board, Roll Number, and Year of Passing the Matriculation (10th) Examination
Disability Certificate Number, if applicable.
Steps for OTR:
Click on “Login or Register” button on https://ssc.gov.in.
Click "Register Now" and then "Continue" on the One-Time Registration page.
Fill in Personal Details, Password Creation, Additional Details, and Declaration. Critical details like Aadhaar Number, Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of birth must be entered twice for verification.
Provide your name, father's name, mother's name, and date of birth exactly as given in your Matriculation (10th Class) Certificate.
Provide details of your Matriculation (10th Class) Examination (Board, Roll Number, Year of passing).
Indicate your highest educational qualification, mobile number, and email ID (which will be verified via OTP).
After saving basic details, confirm your mobile number and email ID. Your Registration Number will be displayed and sent to your mobile and email.
Complete the registration process within 14 days, otherwise, saved details will be deleted.
Login with your Registration Number and auto-generated password, then change your password.
Complete "Additional Details" including Category, Nationality, Identification Mark, and Address.
Review the draft preview thoroughly before "Final Submit".
Upon "Final Submit", enter one of the two OTPs sent to your mobile and email to complete registration.
Read the "Declaration" carefully and click "I Agree".
You cannot edit/modify your One-time Registration data after final submission. Ensure all details are correct to avoid cancellation of candidature.
Part-II (Online Application Form)
Before filling the application form, ensure you have:
Live Photo: Capture your live photo through webcam/mobile device. The photo should be without cap, without spectacles, and with a full frontal view. Blurred or miniature photos will be rejected.
Scanned Signature: Upload in JPEG/JPG format (10 to 20 KB), with image dimension about 4.0 cm (Width) x 2.0 cm (Height). Blurred signatures will be rejected. For PwD(VH) candidates, thumb impression is allowed.
Steps for Online Application:
Login to the online system using your Registration Number and Password.
Click ‘Apply’ link in ‘Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2025’ Section under ‘Latest Notifications’ tab.
Information from your OTR will be auto-filled (non-editable).
Indicate your highest educational qualification and details of "qualifying" educational qualification.
Fill in details if you are serving in Armed Forces or are an ex-serviceman.
If seeking age relaxation, select the appropriate category.
Give your preference for Examination Centers (three in order of priority, within the same Region).
Provide information regarding benchmark disabilities and scribe requirement, if applicable.
Upload your live photograph and scanned signature as per specifications.
Review all details using the Preview option.
Complete your declaration by clicking "I agree" and filling the captcha code.
Proceed to make fee payment if not exempted.
After successful submission, take a printout of the application form for your records.
SSC CGL Application Fee 2025
The application fee for the SSC CGL 2025 examination is as follows:
Fee Payable: ₹100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
Exemptions:
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
Payment Mode:
Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
Online fee payment deadline: Up to 05-07-2025 (23:00 hours).
If the fee is not received by SSC, the status of the Application Form will be shown as ‘Incomplete’ and will be SUMMARILY REJECTED. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be adjusted against any other examination or selection.
During the 'Window for Application Form Correction' (09-07-2025 to 11-07-2025):
First time correction: ₹200/-
Second time correction: ₹500/-
Correction charges are applicable to all candidates irrespective of their gender/category and are non-refundable. If correction charges are not received, the previously submitted application will remain valid.
SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process
Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
Tier-II: Computer Based Examination (includes Paper-I and Paper-II for specific posts)
Here's a breakdown of the selection process:
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I; Section-I, Section-II & Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II; and Paper-II of Tier-II Examination are as follows:
UR: 30%
OBC/EWS: 25%
All other categories: 20%
Maximum percentage of errors allowed (i.e. minimum qualifying standards) in Section-IV of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination i.e. DEST are as follows:
UR: 20%
OBC/EWS: 25%
All other categories: 30%
Tier-I Shortlisting:
Based on the marks scored in Tier-I, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination. Separate cut-offs will be fixed for the post of Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II for appearing in Paper-I & Paper-II of Tier-II and for all other posts for appearing in Paper-I of Tier-II.
Tier-II Examination:
Tier-II Examination will be conducted for all candidates qualified in Tier-I.
All candidates will be required to appear in all four sections of Paper-I. However, candidates exempted from DEST will not be required to appear in Section-IV of Paper-I.
Only those candidates shortlisted for Junior Statistical Officer/Statistical Investigator Grade-II will be required to appear in Paper-II.
It is mandatory to qualify all sections of Paper-I separately.
Evaluation of Tier-II:
Based on aggregate performance in Section-I and Section-II of Paper-I of Tier-II, candidates will be shortlisted for evaluation of Section-III and Section-IV. Those not qualified in Section-I + Section-II will not be considered for further selection.
Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) and Section-IV (DEST) of Paper-I are qualifying in nature. Higher cut-offs will be applied for posts where Computer Proficiency or DEST is prescribed.
Post Preference and Final Selection:
Preference for various posts and departments will be taken through an Online Option Form on the Commission's website before the final result. Candidates not indicating preference will not be considered for that post. Options are final and irreversible.
Posts listed in Para-15.9 of the official notification have mandatory physical and medical standards, including Physical Efficiency Test. These tests will be conducted after final selection by the User Department. Failure to meet these standards may lead to cancellation of candidature for that specific post, and the candidate may not be considered for any other post/department.
Merit list will be prepared based on overall performance in Tier-II Examination only.
Merit list for JSO and Statistical Investigator Grade-II will be based on aggregate marks in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I and Paper-II of Tier-II, subject to qualifying Section-III & Section-IV of Paper-I.
Merit list for posts with DEST or Computer Proficiency will have higher qualifying standards for Section-III and Section-IV.
Merit list for all other posts will be based on aggregate marks in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I, subject to qualifying Section-III & Section-IV.
Final selection is based on 'overall performance in Tier-II Examination' and 'preference of posts'. Once the first available preference is allotted, no other option will be considered.
SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD candidates selected on their own merit without relaxed standards will be adjusted against unreserved vacancies. Those qualifying with relaxed standards will be counted against reserved vacancies.
Success in the examination does not guarantee appointment; suitability will be verified.
Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India (All India Service Liability - AISL) and may need to acquire proficiency in the local language of the allotted State/UT/Zone.
SSC CGL 2025 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL 2025 examination will be conducted in two tiers:
Tier-I Examination Scheme:
Tier-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi, except for English Comprehension.

Paper-I is compulsory for all posts.
Paper-II will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for these posts.

Tier-II (Paper-I & Paper-II) will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions, except for Section-IV of Paper-I.
Questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Language and Comprehension Part in Section-II of Paper-I.
There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Section-III of Paper-I and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II.
Section-III of Paper-I (Computer Knowledge Test) is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Higher qualifying standards will be set for posts where Computer Proficiency is prescribed.
Section-IV of Paper-I (Data Entry Speed Test - DEST) is mandatory for all posts; however, it will be qualifying in nature. Higher qualifying standards will be set for posts where Computer Proficiency or DEST is prescribed.
The "Data Entry Speed Test" (DEST) Skill Test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 key depressions for a duration of 15 minutes.
PwBD-OH candidates are eligible for exemption from attempting DEST, provided they submit a medical certificate. However, this exemption is not available for posts where Computer Proficiency or DEST is prescribed, except for the post of Tax Assistant in CBDT.
PwBD/PwD candidates eligible for scribes will be allowed additional compensatory time of 5 minutes in DEST.
SSC CGL 2025 Syllabus
Tier-I Indicative Syllabus:
General Intelligence & Reasoning:
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/ pattern- folding& un-folding, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence.
General Awareness:
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
Quantitative Aptitude:
The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
English Comprehension:
Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.
The questions in Parts A, B, & D will be of a level commensurate with the essential qualification viz. Graduation and questions in Part-C will be of 10th standard level.
Tier-II Indicative Syllabus:
Part A of Section-I of Paper-I (Mathematical Abilities):
Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers.
Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time and work.
Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like $\sin^2\theta + \cos^2\theta = 1$ etc.
Statistics and probability: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart; Measures of central tendency: mean, median, mode, standard deviation; calculation of simple probabilities.

Part A of Section-II of Paper-I (English Language and Comprehension):
Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and their correct usage; Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage. To test comprehension, three or more paragraphs will be given and questions based on those will be asked. At least one paragraph should be a simple one based on a book or a story and the other two paragraphs should be on current affairs, based on a report or an editorial.
Part B of Section-II of Paper-I (General Awareness):
Questions are designed to test the candidates’ general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
Section-III of Paper-I (Computer Knowledge/ Proficiency):
Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/ output devices, computer memory, memory organization, back up devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer. Keyboard shortcuts.
Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS word, MS Excel and Power Point etc.
Working with Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e Banking.
Basics of networking and cyber security: Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, virus, worms, Trojan etc.) and preventive measures.
Paper-II (Statistics):
Collection, Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data: Primary and Secondary data, Methods of data collection; Tabulation of data; Graphs and charts; Frequency distributions; Diagrammatic presentation of frequency distributions.

The Commission will endeavor to accommodate candidates in their opted Centres. However, SSC reserves the right to add new Centres, cancel existing ones, or divert candidates to other Centres.
SSC CGL 2025 Admit Card
Information about the Examination indicating the time table and City/Centre of examination will be uploaded about 10 days before the date of examination.
Facility to download Admission Certificates will be made available 2-3 days before the examination.
Candidates must bring a printout of the Admission Certificate to the Examination Hall.
In addition to the Admission Certificate, it is mandatory to carry at least two passport size recent colour photographs, Original valid Photo-ID proof having the Date of Birth as printed on the Admission Certificate. Acceptable Photo-ID proofs include:

If the Photo Identity Card does not have the date of birth printed on it, candidates must carry an additional original document (e.g., Matriculation Certificate, Marks Sheet issued only by CBSE/ ICSE/ State Boards; Birth Certificate, Category Certificate) in proof of their date of birth.
In case of mismatch in the date of birth, the candidate will not be allowed to appear.
PwBD/PwD candidates availing scribe facility must carry requisite Medical Certificate/Undertaking/Photocopy of the Scribe’s Photo ID Proof.
Applications with blurred photograph and/or blurred/miniature signature will be rejected, unless the candidate opted for Aadhaar Based Authentication.
Candidates who have not undergone Aadhaar Based Authentication will be required to report at the examination Centre two (02) hours before the scheduled start of examination.
SSC CGL 2025 Answer Key
Candidates may go through the Answer Keys and submit online representations, if any, within the stipulated time limit on payment of ₹ 100/- per question, which is non-refundable.
Representations received through any other mode (e.g., letter, application, email) will not be entertained.
Representations regarding the Tentative Answer Keys will be scrutinized before finalizing the Answer Keys. The decision of the Commission in this regard will be final.
The Final Answer Keys will be used for processing the result of Computer Based Examination and will be uploaded on the website of the Commission after the declaration of result.
SSC CGL 2025 Result
Merit List for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I and Paper-II of Tier-II examination, subject to qualifying Section-III & Section-IV of Paper-I of Tier-II.
Merit List for posts where DEST is prescribed will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I of Tier-II, subject to qualifying Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) at normal standards and Section-IV (DEST) at higher standards.
Merit List for posts where Computer Proficiency is prescribed will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I of Tier-II, subject to qualifying Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) & Section-IV (DEST) at higher standards.
Merit List for all other posts will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored in Section-I & Section-II of Paper-I of Tier-II only, subject to qualifying Section-III & Section-IV of Paper-I of Tier-II.
Final selection will be based on 'overall performance in Tier-II Examination' and 'preference of posts' exercised by candidates.
Once the candidate has been given his first available preference, as per his merit, he will not be considered for any other option.
SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD candidates selected on their own merit without relaxed standards will be adjusted against unreserved vacancies. Those qualifying with relaxed standards will be counted against reserved vacancies.
Success in the examination confers no right of appointment unless the Government is satisfied that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India (All India Service Liability - AISL).
If a candidate scoring more than cut-off marks in any Tier/stage is not qualified for the subsequent stage/final selection due to any reason, they must represent to the concerned Regional Office within two months of result declaration or two weeks prior to the next stage, whichever is earlier.
If a finally selected candidate does not receive correspondence from SSC or the User Department within one year of final result declaration, they must immediately communicate with the concerned User Department.
Resolution of Tie Cases:
In the event of a tie in scores of candidates in the Tier-II examination, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria, one after another in the given order, until the tie is resolved:
Marks scored in Paper-II of Tier-II Examination for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)/Statistical Investigator Grade-II, if applicable.
Marks scored in Section-I of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination.
Date of birth, with older candidate placed higher.
Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear.
SSC CGL 2025 Cut Off
The Staff Selection Commission will determine the cut-off marks for various stages of the SSC CGL 2025 examination.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: As mentioned in the "Selection Process" section, candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I; Section-I, Section-II & Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II; and Paper-II of Tier-II Examination.
Tier-I Cut-off: Separate cut-offs will be fixed for the post of Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II for appearing in Paper-I & Paper-II of Tier-II and for all other posts for appearing in Paper-I of Tier-II.
Tier-II Sectional Cut-off: It will be mandatory for candidates to qualify all the Sections of Paper-I separately in Tier-II.
Higher Cut-offs for Specific Posts: In Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test) and Section-IV (Data Entry Speed Test - DEST) of Paper-I, a separate higher cut-off will be fixed for posts where Computer Proficiency or DEST is prescribed (e.g., Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA & AFHQ, Inspector (CGST & Central Excise), Tax Assistant in CBIC/CBDT, etc.) compared to other posts.
Final Cut-off: The final merit list and selection will be based on the overall performance in Tier-II Examination and the preferences of posts exercised by the candidates.
The Commission is contemplating to introduce a scheme for single round of post allotment sliding seeking to fill up unfilled vacancies reported after Document Verification through extended cut off. This is subject to the approval of the Government of India, and complete modalities will be notified on the Commission's website if approved.
